ABOUT PROUCHE

Who is Prouche?

A passionate artist from a very young age, Prouche began his artistic career drawing comic books. His first, called “Electrozz et Bozz au Quebec”, was released in 1983. :Électrozz et Bozz au Québec. Two other comics from the same series followed, and a fourth is on the drawing board.

Prouche also specializes in historical comics by drawing “La Grande Aventure d’Alphonse Desjardins”, which sold more than 60000 copies and has been translated in both English and Spanish. Following this success, Prouche created “La Ville de Pierre Boucher”: a 64 page comic celebrating the 325th anniversary of the town of Boucherville. However, despite this success, Prouche found that the creation of comics is a very solitary activity—especially the writing!—and he missed the contact with the public. To address this need, he decided to fuse his passion for art and his passion for teaching: thus was born the Prouche Plan!

For many years now, he has been an honoured guest in schools, libraries, and festivals, and revels in interacting with children and young adults. Prouche has visited more than one million kids in over 600 towns during his workshops, and hopes to increase this number by even more.
